I think he means that when its left alone it just dims to a lighter colour then just switches the display off. This is natural for the W810. (I hope i got it right)

This is because of the light sensor,the phone adjusts itself to the environment condition in order to save battery...

yeah, its because of the light sensor. you can screw around with it by putting your thumb on it and watching it go brighter. xD
