but correct me if i'm wrong.., we both know that currently i can't download that "HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_7_R8A_GENERIC_C_ASIA" from link u gave.
so i googled it, n found in another website.. but, in W880 custpack!
and even in this web-forum (topsony.com) are w580 & t650 (found it from googling)! is it the same file? is it ok?

No You Cant Do That. You Have To Use K800 Custpack ONLY.

Hi, thanks for this great tutorial :) , I have SE W850 and I’m trying to upload some new flash menu, after starting XS++ 3.1 I turn off my phone, I hold the “c” button and I connect it to the USB cable. This is what it shows: Error: Cannot open phone communication port Disconnected... Unplug the phone.
Same result with PhoneXS (failed to open); I’ve downloaded the ‘USB Flash Driver’ but in vain.
Can you help me please?

You Have Downloaded The USB Flash Drivers But You Need To Install Them. See USB Flash Driver Installation - Guide - Top Sony Forums

And You Said

You Also Need To Remove And Reinsert You Battery After Turning Phone Off.

Hi, when I connect my phone to the PC I don't have: “Found New Hardware Wizard” pop up, I have already installed Sony Ericsson PC Suite, so I think my PC recognize my phone.
Also I’ve downloaded and installed the USB flash driver in this folder: C:\USBFlashDriver, it includes: ‘ggsemc.inf’ ‘ggsemc.cat’ ‘x86’ folder and ‘amd64’ folder.
Finally, I’ve removed and reinserted the Battery after turning Phone Off with the same result: Error: Cannot open phone communication port

Try Connecting It To SEUS First And When It Detects, Remove Your Phone. Then Try XS++.

Actually Your Firmware Is Quite Old. I Would Recommend Switching To Latest R1KG001. Furthermore I Would Recommend Using SEUS Rather Than XS++ In Your Case Since R1KG001 Is Avalaible On SEUS Too And SEUS Will Automatically Transform Your W850 From CID51 To CID52 Which Is Safer To Do Than XS++. And Last, You Wont Have To Backup Your Files When You Use SEUS.
Although You Are Using SEUS But For God Sake, Backup Up Your GDFS Before Doing Anything.
