    Re: XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering

    My K790i suddenly turned off and was not turning on. When I tried to start the phone it came up to the start animation then the screen kept blinking white/ black. I tried SE update service but since I had latest firmware it did not flash the phone.
    Finally I used XS++ 3.1 (BTW big thanks for the software and this guide) to flash the latest firmware again. The phone started working but now after a few weeks it has again turned off and is not starting.
    What could be the problem with the phone?

    Re: XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering

    used xs++ on two k800i one for screen of death and yesterday for a k800i which would not ring anymore. Upgraded the last one from red 49 to red 52 and then flashed on both occasions worked great.
    thanks for your help.

    Re: XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering

    After performing a (K610_R1GB001_FS_EUROPE_5_RED51) flash using XS++
    And a interruption from a power failure right at the worst time.
    I read the Guideline from mohdumer...
    It would seem that there is no recovery from a "bad" main/file system firmware flash

    All I get is this response now...

Unplug the phone08:59:50| XS++ v3.2 Dev1 (Crystal) Ready !

    08:59:50| Executed on Microsoft Windows XP
    09:00:06| Attempting to open the interface...

    09:00:06| TURN OFF PHONE!
    09:00:06| Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.
    09:00:06| You have 30 seconds...

    09:00:37| Error: Cannot open phone communication port
    09:00:39| Disconnected... Unplug the phone
    09:01:13| Shutting down...

    In UR Opinion is there any hope or RIP?
    Appreciated reply

    Try to check your cable first. If that ok, you can try to take out your batteray for at least minutes, before you insert again. Sometimes (a lot at mine), works perfectly. It cause by uncompleted flash for instance. Hope it help.

    Note to anyone having problems with a dead phone Refer to (and I mean totally dead. No response or blinking light)
    Refer to Senter adviceThread "Totally dead K800i"

    Top Sony Forums - View Profile: senter

    I had a brick and this advice returned my K610i back to the living
    You must have latest Setool lite and XS++ installed.
