    Re: XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing,Customizing,Recovering

    Hi,

    I've recently purchased a Sony Ericsson W880i, branded and locked to Vodafone. I unlocked it at a shop, and am using an O2 payandgo SIM. I wanted to debrand it with a generic firmware so upgraded my EPROM to CID52 as XS++ asked me to, and flashed W880_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52.fbn and W880_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52.mbn. I then flashed the custom filesystem 102719/44 - GENERIC_UK. The phone boots, but asks me to insert correct SIM after telling it to boot into Phone Mode at the startup screen. What can I do to fix this? I am very new at this and it's my first Sony Ericsson purchase. Thanks for any help!

    I think you overwrote the unlocked firmware and locked the phone again when you flashed it with the generic firmware.. try using Remove SimLock Patch Generator to create an unlock patch for your firmware and then SEtool2Lite to upload the unlock patch to your phone. Make sure you apply the "quick access patch" to your phone before you apply your unlock patch though otherwise you will not be able to do it.

    This tutorial will guide you through creating and applying the quick access patch.

    Hope this helps ;)

    ..Jamie

    I'll give that a go, my internet connection is not so good so I'm downloading all the files just now, I'll report back if it works or not. Thanks for the help :)
