yes ppl...i have a k790 and it would not turn on i figured the erom is bad...i want it repair but it doesn't even connet to xs++ so how am i going 2 fix that problem??? add me at t.o.marshall@hotmail.com

What is the file type for main and FS?... I mean like .ss or .flp something like that.

MAIN can be .mbn or .bin and FS can be .fbn or .bin or they both can be without file type.

Hi guys,
Sorry for repeating the same kind of question again. But, before attempting unbranding and unlocking on my W580i, I needed to confirm the following things:

1. I have a Sony Ericsson w580i which was purchased from AT&T Cingular USA.
2. Now, I have been transferred back to Mumbai, India and want to unlock it for using it in India with the local GSM operator MTNL.
3. So, kindly suggest the corresponding Main and FS firmware & custom pack applicable.
4. Also, while selecting the phone model in XS++ v3.1, W580 is not present in the drop down list, so which model should I select?
5. I have successfully backed up my GDFS & the report is as below for reference.

Flashing MAIN+FS+Custom Will Debrand Your Phone. It Wont Unlock. To Unlock, You Should Use Remove SIM-lock patch generator - Top Sony Forums But Do This After Debranding. Since You Are New To All This Therefore Read General Information about Patch-Unlocking (start here if you want to unlock) - Top Sony Forums Before Strating Over. Since You Are In India, So Heres A MAIN+FS+Custom Combination For You.
