Just moving my phone up 1 ft off the table and my reception goes from 0-1 bars to 4-5 constant bars !!!!!! :eek:

Anybody else experience anything like this ??????

i guess it just depends on where u are, prob have some other devices that interferring with the signal or something. I can walk around my room and the signal on mine changes from nothing to couple bars.

This used to happen with my old phone. I would have to walk around the room to try and find a signal. I haven't noticed this behavior with my w580i, though.

I've had better signal with the 810 and 580 than any other GSM phone in my house/area.

Every other phone I get 0 - 1 bar... the SE phones kick ass with full signal

Mine changes bars same way, move half a feet higher and you get 3-4 and a little down and will go down to 1 or sometimes none. May be because of the way sometimes you hold the phone - considering antenna is probably at the bottom. (I'm kind of used to it because I used to have w600i)

Reception is a pretty touchy thing with any phone. It can be affected by how many structures/objects are between you and the tower, what material the phone is up against, other devices interfering with the signal, weather, and of course how far you are from the nearest tower. I've always found my SE phones to have good reception in comparison to other brands.

theses problem may happen is W580 and S500 , the main and most common reason is from the 2 very small and fragile coils near the ANT circuit .

You must open the cover and observe. If you don't have enough technical experience take it to a service center .
