kk leme rephrase what i meant...lol. IFFFF i debrand my phone using the methods described before with the gdfs an what not and my phone is debranded with no rogers stuff at all an w.e...then i was told (in previous posts) SEUS can still update firmware/software, THEN wouldnt that mean its still covered by warranty? at least by sony since the phone still holds their updated firmware? :S lol

Acknowledging that I haven't read the warranty directly, you might have trouble in that the phone, (if its like my ATT model) is physically distinct from a factory debranded model (ie. "AT&T" instead of the Walkman logo on the front) and therefore the lack of the branded software on the phone would be de-facto proof that firmware flashing beyond that administered by SEUS has occurred, and that may void SE's warranty.

You could always flash branded FW back on if you need warranty :)

i just try to debrand my w580i
i flash it with W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
and W580_R8BA024_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52
it was unlock before i try to unbranded
now i cant use it no more
when i turn it on it said configuration error try to contact your network provider ?
what can i do now ? please help me thanx

I used XS++ to flash my W580. There is a section in the user document describing how to handle the such an error. It seems that you did not flash in the custom pck.

I follow the exact steps in the XS++ user guide. Here are what I did as the following:

1. Backup GDFS.
2. Flash in MAIN and FS.
3. Use CUSTOM fuction in the FX++ (however I did not find the W580 model) or use the FXXS to transfer in the custom pck. You can download the custom pck you need.
4. I did a write back of the backed GDFS. It may not be a must.
5. The you can power on the phone. DO NOT power on the phone which will trigger a flash file initialization.
