Now I am confused... I guess it all depends on who you talk to...because all kinds of ppl posted probs w XS.. but I guess anything can go wrong w either program, if you don't follow the instructions carefully.
The latest chapter in my phone saga is that I tried w Wotan 1 last time.. and though I left the logs on my home computer, so I cant post them till tonight..it found my phone and verified the flash header this time... It started writing flash blocks... got to around 46 blocks the 1st time .. and WINDOWS gve me the dreaded "Wotan has encountered an error and must shut down"..so I figure : "well.. the phones already bricked... let me reboot and retry". This time it got to around 94 blocks and toasted out.
End result : I figure : there's a 7 day satisfaction guarantee from the seller.. so I am sending the darn thing back today. Stoopid phone :)
Thank you for all the good advice.. she is going to replace rather than refund.. if she has one in stock... so I may yet use XS to debrand and cross my fingers!!
Flashing and debranding your phone voids your warranty so better don't tell them what you did ;) Just mention you tried to flash it with SEUS and it gone dead.
SE Tool lite is not as self-explanatory as XS++. In XS you know where to put the firmware files and the custpack without even looking at a tutorial.
In SE Tool you need to know that the MAIN and FS goes in the first tab and the custpack into the misc tab. There were lots of people who wanted to upload patches and clicked write GDFS instead of write script and killed their phones. That's why I would advice a noob to use XS++
Ah.. it was a secondhand phone.. so warranty's not an issue.. the seller gave me the 7 day guarantee thing..
I'm wondering if those were Wotan or Windows problems last night though.. I couldn't tell.. I was really optimistic once it verified the flash header that it was gonna work this time. But apparently the fates had other plans :)
