Does this only work on 790i ? or can you make 790a quadband too?

No idea about the internal hardware but this method surely works...
my room mate tried it and it is working fine now.... :)

yes, quadband works fine!!! Thanks to greny who posted here the script, i was afraid to try this, but it worked well... and much easier than patching.

it's possible to change the band with scripts for db2020.i try it and it work fine.now i have k790a quad band 850/900/1800/1900.use the .txt file from archive with setool on "misc files" and "write script".100% working

Before any work get backup gdfs.
Active GSM850 MHZ:
gdfswrite:000000AA0BFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF00
Active GSM900 MHZ:
gdfswrite:000000AA00FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF00
write bold text you want in txt file then add it in MISCFILE in setool2lite then click write script

i always thought that the banding is dependent on the hardware. Evidently Im wrong. Can this method work on other handsets??
