I downloaded the following files for flashing my firmware
K800_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52
K800_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52

Are these files correct according to my phone ??
Which custompack should i choose so that i dont get any configuration error... the CDA102511/183 is not listed in topsony's CDA list.. ??
Info : My phone has no brands (Vodafone etc.)

you can use any k800 firmware on the phone.
but it must be K800 CID52 take the new firmware version in download section

I used the above mentioned MAIN and FS... along with this i have tried 4 custom packs available in XS++ 3.1 i.e
EUROPE_2 (CDA102511/2)
EUROPE_2 (CDA102511/4)
EUROPE_4 (CDA102511/101)
EUROPE_3 (CDA102511/36)

everything is OK but the problem is it gives an error that insert correct sim card.
Please help people... please...

would that be a incorrect sim card error????, and was your phone unlocked before you flashed it???.

my phone is of no brand as vodafone , orange etc... but it was purchased in UK and i am sing it in india at the moment...

the phone was probley patched unlocked, you need to unlock it again see here Remove SIM-lock patch generator - Top Sony Forums

yeah that worked....
now i have the fully functinal R8BC004 firmware.... but i hv a few more questions....

the video in thumbnails is not moving....
the text on top of image viewer (the one that tells u which image no. r u viewing) is too big...

the moving video thumbnails are disabled in most firmwares apart from the really old ones,
the text on top of the image viewer being to big must be a bug in the new firmware

Okey.... ill c to it...
there is one more question... i replaced the startup and shutdown with gif images...
the problem is that the gif image goes into a loop playback... during startup it wont show the main wallpaper are until i dont click any buttons... it will play repeatedly... this is bearable...
but when it comes to shutdown my phone wont switch off... the same case again.. the shutdown image goes into a loop... :(

Any solutions...

There is one more problem....
now whenever i flash my phone with some firmware i have to do the unlock sim thing all over again... it takes a lot of time.... is there any way that i can remove this sim restriction permanently ???
