w580i to s500i housing

Just wanted to see if you guys know if its possible to change the housing from a s500i to the housing from a w580i and vice versa. checked the se website all the sizes match up even the weight any help would be aperciated before i go ahead and try this 1 out.

Yes, It possible! The inside body of s500 and w580 are same. And the position of buttons are same too. but the outside body (faceplate) are different.

The w580i has a radio and a accellerometer so they are not the same...

addict26 is right. You can flash W580 firmware to S500 but radio and accellerometer doesn't run. One thing I feel strange is megabass function works when you flash W580 firmware to S500 because megabass is hardware. I think S500 already has this hardware but not be actived in S500 firmware

So, is it possible to just pry off the faceplate, and backplate of w580i and stick the faceplate and backplate (with buttons and keypads, of course) of an s500i into it?

I took a look at the user manual and the face and backplates are easy enough to take out, but the phoneframe looks like it's a really hard job. I hope you don't have to replace the frame of the w580i just to make the s500i faceplates fit.
