You have been warned not to rush! Now, you won't be able to apply any patch for free, including sim-lock remove patch!

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

Hey Simox.. Thanks for the detailed walk through.I think that the missing driver is installed.. Thanks so much... i will start xs++ right away and test it.. many thanks mate :D

I now have connected the phone with the xs++ and then the updating question came up... if i wanted to update to cid52..i choose NO... the only thing i want to do is to unlock it so i can use other gsm cards.. and not the 3G operator that the phone is locked on now. :D

I almost promise.. if this can be done.. i think this would be the last time i help them pesky kids ;) and im doing this for free to tststs lol.

Reconnect again, and let XS++ to update the CID to 52, to be able to apply the patches.

Because the phone is Vodafone baranded, you need the K610_R1CE001_MAIN_VODAFONE_TH_RED52 MAIN firmware. So download this MAIN, and follow carefully the tutorial in first post of this thread section B. How to apply the generated patches to DB2020 CID52 phones.

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

...To be sure that the phone is really unlocked, put a SIM card from another network provider. Another method to check the SIM-lock status is to access the service menu with >*<<*< key sequence, where: > - joystick right, < - joystick left, * - asterisk key near 0 (zero). Now go to Service Info menu, then SIM Lock sub menu. In case your phone is unlocked, all padlocks are open...
I eventually found why I can't see the unlocked status of the W580i. In the quoted is missing asterix (*) at the end. So the key's sequence should be > * < < *< * to reach the Service Info menu. For w580i, at least, it works.

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

Ok simox.. Now im on the right way i think.. but this is rather confusing. With SETool2 Lite v1.11.
    1. Select your phone model.
    2. In Windows Explorer drag (Windows drag and drop operation) the MAIN firmware (*.mbn) onto [SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder]\qamaker\qamaker.exe's icon. In the qamaker's folder you will get a quick_access_XXXX_XXXXXXX.vkp file.

I dont have a setool folder.. I just have the setool exe on the desktop. Maybe i should reinstall the setool. i might have deleted that folder right after i installed it :s.

I might.. or should i say.. i think that i have not followed the instruction to the letters. because when i put a different sim card in the phone.. it says. put correct card in. :s :).. but hey im at the finish line right ;)

OUPS :( I did it again

This is a very bad habit of many users. I suggest you to follow the guide carefully ;).

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

Just reflash the MAIN firmware, and your phone should come back to life. Then start the whole unlocking procedure again. But at this time follow the guide.
