    Hi all,

It's been a while since I was in the world of K800 firmware flashing (although my K800 firmware thread on Esato is still going strong), so I thought I would post a few questions before I try anything rash :)

I have been given a Voda branded UK phone, R1JC002 CID52, to debrand and unlock for use with O2. I assume I currently will need to flash to R8BA024 via XS++ before utilising this tool in combination with SEtool2 Lite 1.11 to unlock?

Sorry for the simplistic questions - but as I say it has been a while and i'm a bit out of date!

My firmware is totally clean. I didn't install any other patches. I had R6BC002 firmware but I flashed it to R8BA024 and created a patch with Your program from the same file so how can it be? I followed the instructions from here:
    HTML Code:

Thank you very much for trying to help :)

Then probably my tool generates bad patch. Like I said, I will check that patch, and I will fix my tool, but I need some time...

m.warner: I will release a new version soon, that hopefully will support all DB2020 firmwares. But If you don't want to wait(about 1 day), then my answer for your question is: yes.

This one should work. The patch created by simox differs. I haven't tried out any of them, I haven't got a K800 right now.

simox - Thanks for your answer. I may as well flash to the new firmware version, unless there is not a good reason to do so? I have:

    K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52
    K800_R8BA024_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52

... which I believe is correct for the UK. After this I will have a little go with your tool and see what is what! It's quite interesting to go back into the world of SE. Makes a change from my current messing about with my new Nokia N82 and Asus Eee PC. Too many toys, I don't know what to do :) !!!!!

justme: I think my tool generated the bad patch. I will check it, and hopefully the new version will not have such bugs...

    lclucas:
Here is a patch generated with the version in development, and it works(tested by piku234 on sense forum):
    Code:
    ;W850 SW-R1KG001
    ;Remove SIM-Lock
    ;(c) IronMaster
    ;(p) simox SIM_lock_remover patch generator v2.1(dev)

    60AED4: 30B5041C00231A1C111C1C209DF4 F0B505213A22A4F4E5FF0020F0BD
    edit:
justme: I haven't tryed the patches because I don't have any K800 phone. My tool what is under development generates the same path like v2.0. If my generated patch is bad, then that is a VERY BIG problem...

Somebody can test that patch, please?

Simox - great tool! Thanks a bunch! It worked absolutely fine!

In case people wondered what I did to unlock and debrand the UK Voda K800 I had:

    1. Downloaded the R8BA024 firmware files

    K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52
    K800_R8BA024_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52

    2. Flashed them via XS++

    - Flash the Main and FS files
    - Select Customise, choose your region & re-flash (just the customise, and not the Main and FS)

    3. Ran Simox's utility to generate the VKP file

    4. Ran Setool2 Lite 1.11

    - Choose phone
    - In Files, add the Main firmware file
    - In MISC files add the VKP generated by Simox's utility
    - Select FLASH and then follow the instructions
    - When a dialog comes up, select NO to apply the patch

... and there we go!! For me it was quite a journey back into the days I used to mess around with the K800 - although in those days there was no such thing as XS++ and Setool2 Lite, just FAR and the comercial products (Wotan, TMS etc).

    Thanks a bunch Simox!!

It is my pleasure - great work with the tool! Thanks a bunch for your work. If I could edit my K800 thread over on Esato I would post a link to your utility - for some reason it's become corrupt of late and doesn't allow me to edit it, hence the lack of the newer firmware revisions. Maybe i'll PM Masseur and get him to sort it out for me.

As I mentioned before, it's been an interesting couple of hours reintroducing myself to the K800 - one of the best phones ever released in opinion (unlike the K850, which I sent back after 3 days!).

    Mike
