    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

i try your tutorial with a w710i from orange here is the data
    Baseband ID: 9900
    21:54:08| Protocol Version: 3.1
    21:54:08| Phone name detected!
    21:54:08|
    21:54:08| Profiling SEMC phone...
    21:54:08| Platform: DB2020
    21:54:08| OTP CID: 49
    21:54:08| EROM CID: 49
    21:54:08| EROM Color: Red
    21:54:08| IMEI: 35306601xxxxxx
    21:54:08| Phone ID: W710
    21:54:08| Region: ORANGE_GEN
    21:54:08| CDA: CDA102566/14 R8A
    21:54:08| Firmware Version: R1EE001
    21:54:08| EROM: R3A016
    21:54:08| Ready for operation!
21:54:19| User chose NOT to update EROM CID!
can you tell me if i need to change the cid to 52 and if i do that is it ok for the phone?
Second question, the firmware .mbn i get on the net doesn't seem to work with your patch generator, i try with W710_R1EE001_MAIN_GENERIC_CH_RED49 found on this site but i got a error message, should i use a W710_R1EE001_MAIN_GENERIC_CH_RED52 ?
thanks for your time and sorry for my english....

First upgrade your phone to cid 52, then use W710 R1EE001_MAIN_GENERIC_CH_RED52

    Nice day

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

Okay, I'm really not sure what's going wrong here, but I'll tell you what I'm doing in as clear a way as I can and hopefully you'll spot some gaping idiot hole where I'm going wrong.

I'll basically make a list of points and then you can tell me if I'm wrong on any of them, then I'll tell you where it all goes wrong.

Firmware on my K800i is Europe_2, so that means I need the Generic MAIN Firmware, yes? I've got the "K800_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn" file, so that should be right?

Ok well everything goes fine up until the flashing.
I've made the backup GDFS and stuff, so that's fine. But what happens is that, during the FLASH - using the quickaccess file (.vkp) file generated using the aforementioned MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52 in the MISC part, and that exact Firmware in the added files part - it goes great, but then in the log reaches "Part3".

I sit and watch it each time, and Part1 completes fine, then Part2, and then as expected the progress bar goes back to the beginning for Part3, the dialog says "Processing Part3..." and then...blue screen of death and my PC reboots and my K800 is a brick.

Thankfully thanks to the backup GDFS and the firmware I can revive it, but I've tried this 5 times now and the exact same thing happens each time.

There's no SIM in the phone and no mem card and the battery is fully charged.

    I'm running Vista.

This is so frustrating. Any ideas? Thanks.

Oh yeah and before I de-branded this K800i ages ago (which since then has been sitting on my shelf) it was on 3.

CID is 52, firm is R1KG001 and colour of course is Red.

    So!
    Help?!?!
    Kind regards.

    @Azul:
In Windows NT(Win 2000/XP/2003 server/Vista/2008 server) the BSODs are almost always caused by bad drivers. In Windows Explorer go to [SETool2 Lite v1.11 folder]\drivers\USBFlash_driver\ folder, right click on ggsemc.inf file, and choose Install. This hopefully will fix the problem.

I get a message saying that particular .inf does not support that method of install?

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

I've been having the same trouble as azul above, so i updated the drive to the one that comes with setool lite as simox advised (you have to plug your phone in, then go to device manager, right click on the flash device and choose update driver software, then just choose the folder with the correct driver in.)

Now i'm trying to unbrick my k770 following a couple of encounters with that dirty blue screen, i'm using xs++ to restore the GDFS and it connects but then gets stuck at "activating gdfs...." and in the bar at the bottom i get "Sending Applet CSloader..." and then it's just frozen. I've left it for over 30mins, when in the past it only takes a couple of minutes to restore.

Also sometimes in the last hour or so the computer has been struggleing to detect the phone is connected- is this because my battery is low? I've tried plugging in the charger and the red light on the top left front corner of the phone lights up for a few seconds but then goes off again(anyone know what this is?) Does the phone even know how to charge itself when it's brickded? and why doesn't it just take power from the usb like most devices?

sorry have gone on quite a bit there.... getting pretty desparate now tho!..... please help!?!?!

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

Aha, I've sorted the BSOD problem.

Now in the dev manager instead of "Sony Ericsson Flash Device" it's "SEMC Flash" etc, so yeah cheers.

And it seems to have worked, currently applying the quickaccess patch, got past part3 without any problems.

As for Scotty...if the charger light blinks on then off this usually means the phone has been bricked.
What you'll need to do is restore the GDFS and re-flash it using the MAIN firmware.
Then try charging it and if the light stays solid, charge it to full battery before doing any more work with it, otherwise it's very risky

You can find it here in the download zone! Or you can tell us what is your firmware so we can make the patch for you! :D

    Re: Remove SIM-lock patch generator

    Thanks for fast response.
    I've found another firmware
    W880_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_4_RED52.fbn
    W880_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52.mbn
I tried the guide, but the W880i still remains locked and branded (as told by SEtool 2 Lite) but it seems to accept the new sim card and I can't come into the phone and it tells that there are faults in the configuration, contact bla bla ... I'll try to flash it again
