ok thanks, btw after i follow ur guide and apply the patch. one language option is gone.

    W580_R8BA024_MAIN_HONG_KONG_LA_RED52.mbn
    W580_R8BA024_FS_HONG_KONG_RED52.fbn
    W580_CDA102568_104_R8A_GENERIC_HONG_KONG.zip

at first i debrand using those firmware and i had 2chinese language option to pick from the first time power up the phone. but after i apply ur patch, one of them chinese language option is gone. since after the patch just like first time debrand, it ask you to pick ur language option again.

I see that a couple of you have successfuly patch-unlocked AT&T W580i's so I will ask here.

I tried the Simox method.. and although the process seemed to go smoothly.. no errors or "failed" messages, the phone's still not recognizing a T-Mobile sim.

I used W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn to generate the quick access and unlock patches, and I have W580_R8BE001_FS_AMERICA_2_RED52.fbn &
    W580_CDA102568_107_R8A_GENERIC_AMERICA_2 on my phone.

So I don't think the file combination is the problem, as some other ppl have said to others with this problem. All 5 padlocks are open in the Simlock menu. The phone seems to function fine after the process, other than the fact that it isn't truly unlocked.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks all!!!:)

I thought the AT&T software version on the W580 was R7AC001.

It is, but I flashed it with the latest generic firmware to debrand it.

I do see that MAIN_GENERIC and FS_AMERICA_2 is kinda mis-matched, if that makes any difference. MAIN_NAM with AMERICA .. MAIN_GENERIC with EUROPE or APAC

I see in the downloads area there are a few R8BE001 Europe FS files.. Europe1, 2 3 etc. so is there any particular one I should try?

What message do you get exactly?

It looks like the phone is unlocked successfully. Have you tried the T-Mobile SIM with other phone, or another SIM with your phone?

Put here the SETool2 Lite log (that one when you applied the patch). I think there is something wrong...

[QUOTE=simox;75654]What message do you get exactly?

"Insert Sim or Press Demo" which is the same msg a 580i gives when there's no SIM in it at all.

It looks like the phone is unlocked successfully. Have you tried the T-Mobile SIM with other phone, or another SIM with your phone?

Yes, that's what puzzled me. It appeared on the phone itself, that it was unlocked. But the T-Mobile SIM works fine in a code-unlocked W810i, and a RAZR. The AT&T SIM still works fine in my phone, so it's not a bad SIM, or a faulty SIM slot. Now I'm really puzzled.

Here's the log if that'll help.
