Hi, i have a k800i, recently converted to a k810i locked to vodafone.
I used the instructions but when I insert my THREE and VIRGIN SIMS it says insert correct sim :confused:

ANY IDEAS??

The .vkp patches are what they are called: patches.

That means everytime you flash your main and FS (that's what you do to convert a K800i to K810i e.g.) you have to apply a patch once again to use a different SIM than the one the handset was originally locked to.

Sorry for sounding stupid, but im kinda new to this tuff, so what excaly do i have to do just to get my three sim working in it, would it help if I flashed it back to a k800i the did it because i only want to use my three sim card to the end of march to finish my contact then go back to payt vodafone??
so any help???

I've ran through the tutorial's as instructed on my k800i and everything appears to have worked correctly. When I enter the simlock menu all the settings are unlocked however when i insert a sim card it says "Configuration Error. Please contact your network operator or service centre" (The phone shows that it has network signal???). However if i remove simox's patch it just says "Insert Correct Sim". This leads me to believe the problem is within the script itself

something goes wrong when you flashing(bad files??)I had Configuration Error when i was flashing with incompatible main to fs in my software

Deanus69: The unlock patch is good, I'm sure. The problem is that you didn't customized the phone. Like Hicky said, first reflash the phone(MAIN, FS, Custom pack) by following one of flashing tutorials(you will find them on tutorials and guides section). After that apply the unlock patch. It will work...

Benyboy3: You need to unlock your phone. Check out the first post of this thread. If you follow the tutorial and something goes wrong, then give us more information like setool log for ex.

Thanks for a great guide! I just unlocked my k800i, and I can now use it with Tele2 instead of 3. One thought, and a question:

* Part I, step 7 should include the same instruction as part III, step 8. The same dialog pops up when applying the first patch. Not a biggie, but it could be helpful for some people.

* I upgraded the firmware when I patch unlocked it. I didn't touch the FS. If I upgrade the FS as well, will that "unbrand" my phone? I got the original icons back when I upgraded the firmware, but the shortcuts are still for "Planet 3" and "3 Player".

I just updated the tutorial. Thanks for the hint :)

To debrand the phone, you need to reflash it completely(MAIN, FS, Custom pack) with unbranded(GENERIC) firmware. Then you need to apply the unlock patch again. Here is a flashing tutorial: XS++ 2.x Guide

Do not forget to backup the user data(contact list, pictures, ringtones, etc.) before debranding.

I've been going back and forth with this all day for the past 6 hours :( I have

simlockpatchgen
xs++

as well as
K800_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52
K800_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52

I'm using a k800i T-Mobile Branded Handset

Idon't care much about the brands or anything as long as i get MMS (picture messaging to work i'm o.k) What am i doing wrong???

I've used XS++ to flash the MPB as well as the FPB
I then use the simlockpatchgen + MPB File to make a vkp
I then try to use the vkp with se2tool2light with the bypass box checked i'm pretty sure i've pressed both flash as well as the unlock button and i've said no when the apply window pops up but still no luck :(

I'm in the U.S Btw

Plus i get a window saying valus differ when i'm trying to unlock :/
