Unknown Device

Hi everybody!
I bought a W580i couple of weeks ago...and now when I try to cennect it to pc via cable it says Uknown device (and sometimes nothing!!!just the phone screen opens the USB connection Menu)...
any helps?!

Install the USB drivers prior to the connection of the phone.

if phone offers you to choose mode, select data transfer, it should work then

Otherwise, turn off the phone and press C (and hold it) when connecting the USB-cable. The PC is looking for some new hardware => just install the drivers (cd-rom).

It just works fine for me!

Here's how you do it:

Insert the CD that came with your phone.
Plug the USB cable into your PC and phone.
Select Phone Mode
A "Found New Hardware" dialogue should pop up.
You should be able to just keep clicking X.

If your running Windows Vista, you may need to download the drivers off the Sony Ericsson website.

if it still cannot work, you can try to uninstall the driver usb(in your computer, maybe it's crashed in your computer).. and then install it again..

I also refresh my windows but nothing happens
I'll try to write the whole problem:
first of all when I connect the phone to the pc in phone screen always the usb connection menu pops up but when I choose one of the items:
sometimes the pc recognize phone as unknown device and often nothing happens in pc
and when it recognize it as unknown device none of the drivers of usb mach for this unknown device!!!!
but I dot know something...I dont remember...but may be I disconnwect phone when it connects to computer inn filetransfer mode or phone mode in middle of some proccess just may be!!!if I did a foolish thing like this is that what makes the trouble!but i should say i dont mean in middle of copying maybe just the windows of phone files open(the drive lette window waqs open) or in phone mode maybe it connects to pohoneexplo and i disconnect the phone without pressing F1....can this make the problem???and something else the phone works well with bluetooth...

when the computer find a new device, manualy direct him to the folder with driver
btw: do you have a proper driver for your phone?

Download -> w580_usb_signed_drivers.zip

then click Extract to w580_usb_signed_drivers\
