Newbie Help!!!!

Hi everyone' im new here & have little to no experience of working/tinkering with mobile phone software. I am currently the owner of a w810i, which was a decent enough phone i guess' until i got the 'White Screen of Death' as i believe it is known. As a result' this 'phenomonen' has rendered my handset completely useless, Turn it on.......it flashes (white & off etc).......try to turn it off....it wont......the only way to stop it is to remove the battery! It is my understanding that this is a relatively common problem with this handset, and so i'm really just looking for a nudge in the right direction......am i right in saying that i can flash the handset to overcome this problem? Apologies if i am covering old ground (as i'm sure i must be), however i had a look around the forum, but i couldnt find anything specifically dealing with this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download Setool2lite and make a Identify, with this you gonna know your firmware version. Then you need download this firmware and later flash the Main with Setool2lite.

If you didn't touch your phone, maybe with this work

If it doesn't, is a GDFS's problem and is repair with a box.

May also be good to point out the before embarking on any flashing remember to make a back up of your GDFS, as this is specific to your phone and if you lose it, or you corrupt ur gdfs and you havent made a back up then you will end up with a "BRICK", or a paper weight!!

You can do this through Setools and just click read gdfs, this will make a backup in your setools folder.

Also if you arnt very confident you might just be as well to try and update your Firmware/software first through the SE update service (SEUS). If your firmware/software is old this will update it to the most recent one for your handset. If this doesnt get you anywhere then im sure you will be able to download the correct upto date MAIN, FS and custom files from the download section on this site. Just make sure that you correctly ID your region, ie Europe, Asia, US and region numbers etc so you are certain you have downloaded the correct files as these are also specific to your country.

There are tutorials at the top of the main forum section that tell you step by step how to flash your handset easily.

don't use SEUS it not fool proof and it could damage permanently your handset, it also will upgrade your CID from 49 to 50 and the you won't be able to do much with your phone in case you fix it. so try to download the MAIN from the internet and flash it with XS++ 3.1 or SeTool Lite, but before back-up your GDFS.

Well i have to agree that SEUS isnt fool proof but at least you stand half a chance of not brickin ya phone if you use SEUS then using XS++ or Setools if you dont know what your doin!!

Also SEUS are now upgarding the some capable phones to cid53 which is a nightmare at the moment!! do you agree!! Worse than CID50. I think JDflasher can access some of these but the k800 and w580 that have been done using SEUS have all been upgarded to CID53
