so if I use setool 2 lite or wotan to replace the tmobile firmware with the generic one my phone will be unbranded?

You must "change" FS with Europe_* and Main Generic.

did that successfully with setool lite 2 but now get a configuration error message :confused:

reflashed with W810_R4DB005_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED50 and W810_R4DB005_FS_EUROPE_5_RED50 and Helen_CDA102494_4_R3A_Generic_Trade_United_Kingdom ... all working fine and unbranded... still got the esl lock so I'm stuck with tmobile till I find out how to remove the esl lock. :(

xs cannot read my phone

Not sure but isn't it worth trying annother provider's SIM to checkif netweor is locked.

have done this, nothing has changed in that respect... still get 'please insert correct sim' :(
my w810 is DB2012 is this a problem?
