can you describe in depth how you moved the custpack over to the phone? im on the customize portion of the tutorial on SE-NSE and im not sure how to move the custpack over....thanks!

k, you have to download the custom pack first which is organized like this:
W580_CDA102568_2_R8A_GENERIC_CENT_EUROPE\tpa\prese t\custom

then you browse your phone to the same directory: tpa\preset\custom

and you drag the files over, they will copy over the existing...

it's just replacing the operator's firmware with a generic one
debranding means removing simlocks that don't allow to use your phone with different operators
i know that it allows you to use mp3 files as a ringtone, but did you actually try to use sim cards from different companies after you have "debranded" your phone?

You are talking about unlocking a phone. There are different threads int he forum discussing that topic.

We are talking about debranding a phone, which means to remove all of the crap and restrictions set in the phone by certain providers by setting the firmware back to factory settings that sony would have setup.
