is there anyway to save photo straight to the memory stick right after taking the picture using the picture button without having to click on 'more' then 'save'?

simply lightly tap the shutter button just like you would want to focus on taking another snapshot. It will automatically save exit preview mode for another snapshot.

In "save to" options, choose "Memory stick" to save your picture in memory card.
