FREE W580i AT&T(USA) Unlocking

Folks, I've spent money with three different unlocking providers, and now pursuing refunds from them all (CID 52 is screwing it all up). If you have an AT&T branded W580i, just give AT&T a call and ask them to unlock your phone. I have TMobile and bought my W580i from Ebay last week.

AT&T will ask you for contact info, the IMEI, and it takes about a week for them to get back to you (so they say) though I hope it is sooner than that. They will provide the unlock code via email or phone.

Oh yeah, and the kicker..... it's FREE! :eek:

Now, once that is done, I look forward to de-branding the $#!^ out of it and hopefully getting my refunds back.

Yeah folks, only a day later and I received my email with the unlock code and full instructions. Worked instantly. :D

Guyz.. how long have u had the contract for? they will obviosly give you the unlock code if you ask them after the contracts has expired... they wont say no...

i think it woudl be the other way around. Give you the unlock code when you are in a contract because you are stuck in a contract, they get money either way...

if you are not in a contract, why would they give you the unlock code so you cancel and go to another provider with their phone???

viva101 is 100% correct. after reading this post i 611ed AT&T and asked them to give me the code to unlock my phone. they were more then happy to. i have to wait 9 business days to get it. but we will see.

9 days is up....hahahaha it only took like 12 hours to get it...my phone is now unlocked....lenny

i tried the same thing ...called AT&T asking for the code , they say they can't give it before 90 days :( ...thats thats their policy
what did you guys say that they gave you the code

i told them i needed to get my phone unlocked. they said "for international use?" i said sure, i have a bus trip in a week and i heard that i can do it. they said it would take up to 9 bus days. but less then 12 hours later the instruction and the unlock code where sitting in my email just waiting for me.

is anybody know that for orange(france) we can do the same? because i want to unlock it.. but my phone is CID52 too..
