P990i Screen Calibration Problem

Hi All!

I'm really disappointed. My P990i, which is very well taken cared off, never dropped, all of a sudden got the case of the heeby-jeebies! Initially, the screen calibration was just off. All bottom (of the screen) icons were tappable in the middle of the screen. Then it started moving up. Meaning all top icons were no longer tappable. I tried recalibrating but got the message that I was tapping too far away from the point. Now, you can't even tap the screen anymore. I read from posts that this is a common thing with the P990? :confused: And that the only resolution is to change the LCD? :eek:

If this is true then it is prepostrous! C'mon Sony Ericcson! :mad: What is the point then in taking very good care of the phone when things like this happen even without cause? :mad: I've read that even flashing or what have you does not work.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

my screentouch dosent work any more too, i installed a language pack , restarted the phone and now it wont work.... someone told me i have to change the lcd display...

YOU MUST CHANGE ANY ICD DISPLAY, and JUST HK$600 DOLLARS

i dont know how much that means...but if isnt the display? i didnt broked, dropped ..... here its abou 95 euro a display...

The same thing happened to me. The screen taps are way too off than the pic I'm actually tapping on the screen. So I had a master reset done then updated my firmware. It worked! ;-)

hi go to control panel\other\setup wizard then follow the steps and calibrat ur thoch screen

Does it have other way than changing the screen?
