    Installing new java certificate - K800 ?

    Hi,

I've seen that it is possible to install new java certificate in K750 in order to give permissions to java apps. Halmer.cer and customize_upgrade.xml are uploaded to FS/tpa/preset/custom and that's it. I wonder if the same could be done with K800 CID49 using XS++

    Thanks

I still wonder if i have to do the master reset to activate the new certificate.
I think you have to do it if you edit the customize.xml, but i think it is not necessary if you just upload the customize_upgrade.xml. Correct me if I'm wrong!

    Cheers

You were not mistaken! After upload of the certificate master reset is not necessary. I made on the z710i CID49 db2020!

I was wondering if I could install my own certificate into the phone. I happen to have the same configuration as you do. Could you please give specific details about the installation? What is halmer.cer? Can't I just generate my own certificate?

    5. We harvest Flash, then we connect telephone with the stopped up button “[s]” (on the telephone)
    6. We go we smoke, and after arriving, file it will be flooded into the telephone
    here [mnzhestvo] of the methods:
For those, constant demands tired to whom on leaving into the Internet or with the turning to the file system Of java - [apletov] it is devoted….
We pour the certificate Of halmer' a through Far Of plugin CID 36/49
    1) we draw off customize_upgrade_halmer.rar, we unpack.
    2) We start Far Of plugin, we go in FS/tpa/preset/custom/
    3) we copy into FS/tpa/preset/custom/of customize_upgrade.xml and halmer.cer
we pour the certificate Of halmer' a through the client of da Vinci
the first, that it is necessary to make, to purchase one Log da Vinci - to here purchase it will be able each, for example, with the aid of WebMoney, it stands 5$.
We draw off the necessary files:
    1) Client of da Vinci
    2) driver for DCU-60
    3)file CST
    checking the cable:
    1) We install driver for the cable, for this we turn off telephone, then we press button “[s]” on the telephone and, without releasing it, we put cable in the telephone. System will find new equipment, by hand indicate way to the driver in the master of the installation of new devices.

    Writing Of custom Of files…

    Execution Of time - 00:02: 43
    Done!
    5) If below to the left in the client you saw this inscription, then you pierced certificate.
    6) We disconnect telephone from the cable, we include telephone.

    We sign Java:
    1) To [skachat] EQ_Halmer.rar
    2) to neglect the file Of eQHalmer.exe, to harvest button A and Enter.
    3) To select necessary jar- file, to harvest on it by the right button of mouse and to select the point Of halmer.
    4) We pour those obtained of jad & of jar into the telephone into the folder “other”. We search for jad (it usually higher than jar'a and they they are always next located). We harvest “to establish”. After everything was established, we go into the applications of the function of authority and with the large lightening note that reading \ the record of files, the access into the Internet etcetera can be noted as “WITHOUT THE DEMAND”.

Halmer is the only cert available that lets you sign your own applications to remove prompts.

    Own certificate

Well, yes, Halmer is the only certificate available to the average guy.

But I just succeded in creating and installing OWN certificate (that I generated) into the phone. I do not use the Halmer .exe (I run GNU/Linux), I simply sign the .jar files using JadTool from WTK. Yes, I chose the hard way.

The problem with Halmer as someone pointed out elsewhere is that EVERYBODY can sign their code with it, so it may not be safe to have it installed. But nobody can have code signed with my certificate, can they?

Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not after you ;-)
