i m using a SE w550i

First - start by reading "Language description" and "CDA List" from TopSony forum.
Second - you have to know the firmware version and CID (protection) of your phone.
Third - you need the necesary flash files for you phone: MAIN FIRMWARE, FS (File System) and CDA (custom pack).

In order to flash your phone you need the following software: SETool2Lite 1.08 and XS++ 2.2

If i'm not mistaken your phone (SE W550) must have a CID49 protection system and one of the following firmware versions: R4AB048, R4BA041 or R4CB020. The latest firmware version for W550 is R4BC020.

If you want to debrand your W550 and flash it with the latest firmware version you'll need the following files:
- W550_R4CB020_MAIN_GENERIC_EL_RED49
- W550_R4CB020_FS_EMEA_1_RED49 (or other language zone you want)
- W550_CDA102426_1_R2A_Generic_EMEA_1 (or other language zone you want)

Remember one thing: FS (file system) and CDA (custom pack) language zone must corespond.

The MAIN and FS flash files will be in an archive. You have to extract the content of those archives. Those two files must have the following extensions: .mbn for MAIN and .fbn for FS

To flash your W550 using SETool2Lite 1.08 follow these steps:
- turn of the phone, remove and reinsert the battery
- open SETool2Lite, select the Phone Type and press "CONNECT" button (you have 30 sec. to connect your phone)
- hold the "C" key and connect the USB cable to your phone
- in the "Files" section of SETool2lite load the following files: W550_R4CB020_MAIN_GENERIC_EL_RED49.mbn and W550_R4CB020_FS_EMEA_1_RED49.fbn
- in the "MISC Files" section of SETool2Lite load W550_CDA102426_1_R2A_Generic_EMEA_1.rar
- now press the "FLASH" button and wait for operation to complete
- unplug the USB cable from your phone, remove and reinsert the battery
- turn on the phone

YOU'RE DONE!

Be careful what you do to you phone, because any attempt to change the software will void the warranty.
Read slowly and carefully the steps described above and you won't have any trouble.
After you flash the phone you can check even on SEUS if there are available updates.

xs++ has problems with the w550i it gets stuck when flashing the FS, so only use setool2 lite but ur phone has to be cid:49. if u get a cid:36 ur have to use wotan or a pay service.

The W550 bug has been fixed in XS++2.2, just a few days after I told gbrooks about it ;)

1 person complained, that there w550i got stuck flashing with xs++2.2

Hey, I flashed my phone with this method, but it stopped half way through (usb dropped out) and everytime since Its not allowing it to complete, same thing happens each time.

Anyone have any fix for this? The phone had been left on charge for a few hours? or is my phone completely damaged? It doesnt come up with a white screen anymore! :|
