    I am still confused... So has anyone been able to set mp3's as ringtones cause if not that sucks and I may just go back to my 810i

    yes. it's possible. i flashed my Rogers w580i with Generic America 1 firmware and am now able to select mp3s. place your mp3 songs under /music/ringtones on your m2 card

    Hotness! Okay thank you so I'll go ahead and give it a shot with the debranding.

    My only main concern was that I would go through all of the procedures and end up in the same boat....


    Now i'm excited about this phone again :D

    As long as you flash GENERIC MAIN + UNBRANDED FS and GENERIC CUSTOMIZE then you will remove MP3 restrictions on ROGERS and FIDO phones.
    Just yesterday I flashed my friends fido Z710 after he started having problems with missed calls, and he was able to use MP3 as a ringtone and SMS notification, unlike before with rogers' custom firmware in the phone.

    I think someone else already mentioned this. There is a ericsson drm packer you can use to "lock" the mp3 and then use the myphone explorer to transfer it to the root dir of the phone. I tried that and was able to use mp3 as my ringtone.
