You intend to view the photos made by your phone on a TV set, it doesn't matter very much the resolution as long as they are between 640x460 and 720x576. If you want to view pictures at a higher resolution you need a DHTV set and a true HD-DVD player, because standard TV and DVD sets display the image on standard resolution witch is not bigger that 720x576.

Even if you have pictures at a resolution of 3MP and you create a DVD slideshow or video presentation the max resolution will be 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC).
