Will this method work? [Editing FS]

I have a K510i Cid50 phone and since XS++ 2.2 does not support it yet i was looking for an alternative way to update/customize the FS without XS++/Far+Sefp

My eyes turned to Setoollite becouse its the only tool that supports my phone

i see that it can flash, backup/write gdfs and upload(write) files but not read them, i dont know if i cannot read them becouse its reserved for full version or is it not possible for now

if this tool can make folder lists, upload(write) files, remove files, move files, in your FS using scripts written in notepad (commands) then i thought: if i could get a hold of for example layout.xml from my phone/firmware then i could edit it the way i want (in example remove operator logo) and then upload by setoollite

but how to get it? it i downloaded cid49 firmware for k510i and i was succesfull with extracting all files using two tools

first i used main2raw and got a raw conversion of the FS contained in the firmware that i got from some czech site (red cid49/k510i)

and extracted this raw file using SEFS4 tool

i could play mids/mp3 view jpg`s and edit xml files so i think nothing is corrupted, and i got all the configuration files layout.xml and others

and i want now to ask pro custimizers and people who maybe tried this becouse i could not find anything on this matter, everyone uses FAR+sefp

when i get CID50 firmware and extract layout.xml edit it to have for example no operator logo, and upload it with setoollite2 will it work and will this be safe for my phone?
i cannot backup the original becouse setoollite cannot read as like i said earlier

so did anyone try something like this? or has any thoughts on this idea?

it worked just updated layout.xml and removed operator logo

With SETool2 Lite using script commands, you can read even the entire phone file system (ex. "readpkg:/") :) . You can find the script commands at following link: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=13115

If something isn't ok in your whatever config file, the phone will complain:p
But now you can backup your files, so I think the problem is solved...

I know it sounds alot but if you do a search on here and on other sites you will get the hang of it. The more you read the more you learn. I've flashed a few phones and I'm still learning as new programs come out.
