K800 - auto-focus button problem

I don`t know how others tell it and i haven`t find something really like this but i`m sure it happened to others.
One day the auto-focus (side camera button) stopped working normally, it caused to lose focus like i release it or after focus was ok not to make the photo when i fully pressed it.
The thing was going and coming until one day where its really hard to see it focusing but no way to take a picture (with that button only). Its funny because when i press it while off of the menus it will start the camera mode instantly but when i want use it for pictures it wont do it.
I have send it to the service to get it repaired (i only have 1 month of warranty until will no longer be in warranty) i got it back with a note: The phone cant be repaired and the warranty is no longer available because "contact with liquids" i never got it under watter or something like that so i cannot imagine how the silly side button could be damaged it i was wet on hands i would wet the joystick area or buttons the receive call or something that you need when in a hurry and hands wet.
But anyway i dont know what to do after this anyone has an ideea? if cannot be repaired it should be changed or something i think.
SE realy sucks in stuff like this ? Someone realy dropped my nokia 1100 in watter and worked without having to open the case after a while (but the ringtone was funny) the stuff happend twice!!! and it is fully working without a service how could be a k800 damaged by talking maibe in rain a little bit or wet hands for moments?

if its hardware error, give it back to the seller/shop(where you bought it) with warrenty.
If its a software error you can try to flash the phone.

if it opens the camera from the menu, you should check software
flash new software

well ... on every press works to start the camera but when i try auto-focus or to take picture it just appear several times the trying to autofocus or nothing but not taking the picture anyways.
I cant imagine if its hardware or software problem the waranty service told me its unrepairable and took it out of waranty because "contact with liquids" but i dont think a contact with liquids would affect only that silly buton and not that the fkin half or 1/3 of the button functions they say its sealed and got pictures about the "contact liquids" problem but i cant imagine that in that pictures i will see a big corosion or something like that because its a only fkin small button and not even all of it aint working.
Please direct me to other people that had this problem im not shure what to look for ... what are the key search words =) im shure they want to not repair it or something like that.

p.s. i cant flash it, should be in warranty untill november.

Change 'Autofocus' to 'Infinity'. If the phone's irrepairable, there's not much u can do about it other than a) be grateful u can still make calls with it b) fight it out with ur retailer c) give it 2 the poor and buy a new one. I treat my fone as if it is a pot of gold. Really.

if they vioded your waranty because of contact with liquid, you can't get free warranty service any more....

anyway flashing software is not voiding of waranty
if you don't know how to do it, let someone you trust flash it

I've got the same problem with my K800. One day everything was working fine, and then yesterday it went back to not focussing after I had made it focus. Not that much of a problem, because you can just press the joystick to snap a picture, but still it is quite irritating.

Yea true yesterday just started working like new one and today just stopped again =) it realy sucks i have a bit problem with the charger and headphones not detecting them at first try =) but not so annoying like the focus problem.

Taking pictures with the joystick is not so great because it take unfocused or unfocus able pictures to but its a good way to do it if u cannot do it like it should =)

I wait for Orange Company call me for the Reclamation i made i`m very unpleased by the last service they left dust under the screen protector and i can see where they stick the thing to open the case... the left buttons like the back arrow and the upper --- makes a metalic noise when touched (not preased) and released after touch, i think they are realy lame in repairing i think i wont send it back even they tell me. I will get it to other paid service soon.

About the flashing ... the flashing with SEUS is legal but the other ones ... i dont know SEUS is updating software if new software released but i got the last software and very unpleased by it thought! The upper buttons ... they wont go fwd and back on photos now ... the red light focus isnt used when focusing in document mode the direct internet button is now working at first touch again ... many things the best thing with the last update is that the videos wont start the preview thing =)
