No handsfree radio mod

i've heard that you can listen to radio whitout the handsfree if you aplly a mod and put a metal object on one of the pins of the handsfree connector(can't remember which), if anyone has done it before please help me

i know that whitout antenna the reception would be very poor, but if i could put a wire to act as antenna, i guess it could work
