I just use mozilla firefox with the download helper plugin to get videos from youtube and many other sites.
They come as .flv file then i just use SUPER © http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html to convert the flv to avi then use it to convert avi to 3gp. It works perfect and isnt very hard to do. :)

YouRipper Seems to work just fine for me...and there are many other flv 3gp converters that work really well. Like Flash to Video and ImToo 3gp. Try until u find what u prefer i guess.
