Debranding / Flashing AT&T w580i

So I have done this in the past with my w810i.
getting a new phone (w580i) and im sure that the at&t branding is going to be horrible.

I was wanting to make sure that I have the right files b4 I set out to do this.

Was going to use

main - W580_R6BC002_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
fs - W580_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52

for US English
Do I need to use a customization pack or will the phone just be bone stock without using it ?
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_106_R8A_GENERIC_AMERICA_1 ??

the branding is horrendous. i just got mine today and have been driving myself insane trying to figure out how to debrand this thing. those are the firmwares i'm using and my research/reading on various forums have led me to download. what are you going to use to flash yours? and do you know how long it will take?

I have always used xs and far, but recent trials with setool 2 lite have been really good too. I would personally recommend setool 2 lt because of the lack of phone to pc transfer at this point (as far as I know its a one way show with far AND setool).
Ill prolly open op far and check things out just for kicks..


I think Ill give setool a run at it first. don't think it should take more than a few mins due to the new sefp 2020 additions.

I was wondering as well whether the customization pack for w580i is recommended or necessary, or would main/fs be sufficient. Would everything still be on the phone and usable without it, or will it be missing something?

i got this phone from at&t and they locked so many options.. so lame

i debranded mine, it works fine, plus flash menus work, can set ringtones, and got rid of all that AT&T stuff..
@teinoshiro, I debranded mine with the Hong Kong firmware, so I can set it to chinese, so its possible

i was originally planning to get this phone from taiwan since my parents are there, but it seems its hard to get 'em there now, so i had to go with rogers
good thing the guy who sold me gave me discount of 30 dollars because water got into my previous cell phone and it doesnt work anymore T-T

What is the easiest way to debrand w580i? SEtoollite? XS++? FAR? can someone do a quick tutorial? thanks.
