s500i can I replace imbedded sound?

    Hi,
I hope this is the right forum to post this.
I wanted to find out from seasoned users if this is possible before I started down this path.

On the sony s500i, when I set a calendar item with a reminder, I cannot set the reminder ringtone. they have a built in tone that I don't hear very well and I'm always missing appointments.

So I'm wondering if using these tools I can somehow put in my ringtone for this function.

    Cheers

You can replace the default sound for the calendar reminder.
Using Far manager + Sefp plugin you could replace \tpa\preset\system\sound\REMINDER.MID with another MID file.

I'm glad that the information was helpful.

There is a rule on topsony's forum: not to thank to someone with a reply to his post because it does not add something useful for others to read, in some long threads one would have to navigate through the "thanks you" posts to find what is looking for. For thanking you have the option, and this is visible for others to see, but in a more discreet manner.

hmmm, phone not supported is the msg I get when I press c and connect the cable.

    I installed farmanager 1.7
then I extracted SEFP010044.zip (2056kb) to the plugins folder
    this didn't work
I then got sefp010051.rar (277kb) and updated the plugin.
    Same problem
The error doesn't stay on very long so I don't have the hex value it shows for the chipID but it does say not compatible.

which version(s) should I be using for the S500i?

I chose to use the K750_w800_CID36 boot script.
I'm looking at this post for help:
SE Flash Plugin - SE-NSE Forums

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've been reading for hours and I can't find much info on the S500, I keep reading about the CID and DB2020 and all that but nothing references my phone so I'm totally lost

    thanks again

    - Start far.exe
    - Press F11
    - Select SEFP 0.10.0.51
    - Select: Device: DCU-60, Speed 115200, Boot script: db2020_52
    - Prepare PC (install USB drivers, connect DCU-60, etc)
    - Pepare Phone (power off, not connected to DCU-60)
    - Press 'Enter the Matrix' in FAR
    - Connect the DCU-60 to the phone with the 'C' key pressed
    - Profit!

(The DCU-60, just in case, is the starndar data cable, the one that comes with your phone)

OK, never mind my last post, I edited to delete the problems I listed.

It took me 2 hours of googling and reading to figure out far has a db2020 version, I finally got it, seems to be very dodge and not talked about a lot.
    here:
    SEFP for DB2020 CID5152 - SE-NSE Forums

OK, looks like this phone has .3gp file and not mid. I always thought 3gp was video but they are under the default sound folder just like you listed.

    Research continues...

    cheers
