CID means the copy protection of the phone. The higher the number the more difficult it is to remove it (e.g. to remove branding or to unlock it from the provider).

cid:49 and cid:50 r both moddable cid:49 is easyer 2 mod but a cid:50 is newer faster and more stable

I would'nt upgrade the CID. But if you want to do it, just update with Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS). Your CID should get updated then.
