k750i unlock menu

I have a few k750i's I plan to unlock (when I buy a service cable) before selling on. The trouble is some have the usual joystick problem, one doesn't go left, and one doesn't work at all.
I know the unlock menu can be opened by typing <**< but is there any other way... as this obviously can't be done with a dodgy joystick.

Another thing, I read that SEMCtool v8.4 free is the best for unlocking them, but when I downloaded it it did not work, furthermore it contained a virus :(

You can put in another sim, the phone will tell you to enter the unlock code then.
SEMC 8.4 doesn't contain a virus. It's just the code of crack (I think it is the crack, but I'm not sure) that causes your antivir program to see it as harmful. But it's not.
You are missing a .dll. Had the same problem. Sorry, but I don't know which it was anymore and I'm going to go to bed now. Someone else will tell you the solution. If not, I'll have a look at it tomorrow.

I disabled my antivirus and now the program will start up :) I guess it just wasn't allowing me access to it.

Took me 2 days and 3 different virus programs, and lots of searching and shredding to finally get rid of this SEMC 8.4.

In all the years I have been messing with computers this was the worse VIRUS I ever came across.

If you want to spend hours and days repairing your computer software then by all means try this SEMC 8.4, or take heed and stay away from it and try another method.:mad:

Yoa are the forst and only man that had that problem.
A lot of users uses usbsmart 8.4 and did not had any problem whatsoever.
So your pc already had a virus dude...

On a similar note, is there any other way to access the service menu (usually >*<<*<*) with a joystick which won't go either left of right?

SEMCtool v8.4 is not very good for SE k750i.

Would Setool2lite be better?

I've just been looking at Setool2 lite and SEMCtool v8.4, and both only mention CID49, I think all of the k750i's I have are CID36 :confused:

SE Tool lite is not able to unlock. SEMCtool 8.4 should do the job. I never unlocked a CID 36 phone with it.
You can use Sonics or SE Tool 2 cracked to unlock your phone, too.
Backup your GDFS before you try to unlock it! And if you use SEMCtool, make sure that you've got a supported firmware installed.
