So i have a rogers branded k790a, and i wanna debrand it to the original k790 software. How do i figure our which firmware i should download???

You have to know some information about your phone.
And the Information you can reed with free programms like XS++ or SEtool Lite. You have to know the Erom CID(Not OTP). And when you know the CID you have to download the firmware wit the same CID, the same model(k790i) and of couse not branded firmware (e.g Main-Generic and FS with the languge pack you want e.g Europe2,Europe3,Europe4,America...)

And last you need also unbranded cutompack.

you need to flash the phone to debrand it, nothing can be done on cid:49 that can't be on cid:51 you need to update to cid:52 then more things can be done like patches.

You don't HAVE to flash the phone to debrand it.

You can debrand using XS++ or FAR to remove/replace specific preloaded games/ringtones/startup screens..etc. You can upload customize_upgrade.xml to enable MP3 ringtones/tech-mode/flash theme(for W series)/data counter, to make preloaded games deleteable, to make pre-configured internet accounts/profiles modifiable or deleteable.

Most CID52 phones can be unlocked for free through a patch.
