hy im new to this.. i have the sony 580i for at&t and i am using t-moble as teh service provider.. how does debranding effect my phone.. will it mess it up in anyway.. can there be any problems cosed by doing this... and also my phone is unlocked will there be any problems with this... please let me know

It will give you extra features like 2 free games (Sims2 and Lumines). Also you will be able to use full mp3s as a ringtone. I got one through at&t and it would only allow mp3s that were 30 seconds or less. I just did it because I wanted the fitness app, custom themes, and the "original" shortcut-key. so u have this phone from at&t.. what company do u use it for... ohh my phone is unlocked is there any chance that undranding will kill the unlock of the phone.. and how different is the phone after u did this.. any problems.. what other extra features you got

a'right, im gunna give the best answer i can because i know how u feel as a noob.... being one myself... but i've debranded my phone about 3 times now... because i keep missing the languages i want... but none the less im happy now..

I used setools2 lite ver.1.08 and (my first time around) the central asia FS with a generic flash and some arbitrary custom pack...
A flash is essentially the code your phone runs off of. (ex. W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn)

A FS is a file system and it controls what files are put on your phone. (ex. W580_R8BA024_FS_C_ASIA_RED52.fbn)

A custom pack is settings that your phone uses to coordinate everything. (ex. W580_CDA102568_7_R8A_GENERIC_C_ASIA.zip. yes it comes as a zip)

Both flash and FS must be of the same version, im not sure about the custom pack. (R8BA024 = R8BA024 = R8?)

So, in setools2 lite, i specified the correct model from the drop down list (W580)... then added the flash and FS files into the "files" space, and the custom pack in the "misc files" part, setools2lite should recognize which languages are specificed in the custom pack.

1) remove the battery, sim card, memory stick from the phone for a few seconds....
2) reinsert the battery...
3) while holding down C plug the phone into your usb port... windows should find some kind of sony flash device.... let it install the drivers (which you may have to download... which may not be windows verified or whatever)....
4) now unplug the phone... remove the battery... wait... replace the battery and plug the phone back in again (while holding down c)....
5) now press flash inside of setools2lite... (with all those files specified)
6) DO NOT disrupt this process (maybe you should have restarted your computer at the begining? to make sure u won't freeze up?)
7) when setools2lite says its done, it's done =) (it should say something about how many seconds it took... for me about 300... so 5 minutes?)
8) turn on your phone.... you may have to remove the battery and replace it before it'll turn on.... it'lll take a while as it's setting some stuff up....
9) enjoy a world free from rogers branding

Don't get risks and go for the three files.
The custom file (CDA) is the one that will eliminate all your Rogers...things.
Post more info about your phone in order to get more help.

really to be honest.... any set will do... my first time around i used a central asian bunch... got english polish and some other stuff... but being chinese (though illierate in it) i got a hong kong pack later on.... anyway here's a link for the c_asia pack and another tutorial...
