    Radio without headset?

Can we turn the radio function on without inserting the headset? is that possible by modifiying firmware?

yap patch is available for k750i w800i...etc
But radio can't work without antenna and headset is also use for antenna.
if you apply patch, only in one condition radio works properly without hands free. if you touch any steel pin or whatever to the pins where you attach hands free.OR it works when your finger touch to the pins.
Reason: at that time your finger OR steel works as an antenna.
    Hope you understand.

Yup, his totally right about that! but its pretty troublesome since you have to touch the pins at the bottom to have the radio working properly.

I, personally dont like the idea that i have to attach the headset to listen to the radio. Oh well, no choice there. :)

I know that at least on the W300 you can listen to the radio through the built in speaker (still needs headset attached as antenna but not necesarily listen through it).

Another option, as mentioned would be to customize with the patch but it would work OK if you have a very strong FM signal near. Otherwise, you don't pick up anything.

It is not practical in my opinion ..
FM radio CANNOT WORK without an antenna , your supplied headset
    does this antenna job.
If you apply the patch , you still need to something to replace the headset's
function of signal reception , in this case , by using your fingers .
So you practically remove that hands-free previlige and keep your hand tied
to your phone --- sounds awfull.

    By the way ..
Does any one know how to replace a k700 headset phone connector with that
    of a k510 headset ?? Reason for asking : I have a very good k700 headset,
my k510 headset sound rather muted ,in comparison , so I wonder if I can
    switch the connectors ..
    Any picture tutorial ??

when you turn on the radio on a w300, you can then turn on the external speaker. no real reason to apply the patch since it's easier to just plug in the headset then it is to rig up an antenna.

Puting that patch is not that practical if you plan to listen to radio too much because you have to keep your fingers on the 2nd and 3rd pins or the fastport connector which keeps your hands busy all the time.
