    T630 on T28 and SEMC 8.4

    Hi folks,

ok, got an old T630 id like to use again, but forgot my Phone lock code :(
Got myself a T28 Cable, downloaded the SEMC Tool 8.4 Free and installed the USBSeriel driver. When I start SEMC and select the T28 Cable, i dont get any errors that it cant find the com port, so i am presuming the driver is installed correctly. (If i try another com as to that in the Device Manager it says cant connect, so it must be ok) But, when I try to select a job and carry it out, it says Error: Phone not power up. The batt is 100% charged, but nothing happens.
    Any ideas / help ?

    Thx

When you plug the cable you have to press "power" button on one second, then the phone will be detected. ;)

When i plug the cable in, the phone powers up automatically .. and then if i press the power button it switches off. I cant power the phone up with the power button if the phone is connected to the cable. I must disconnect the cable and switch on, or just plug the cable in and it powers up.
I downloaded Floats Mobile Agent to check i can get a connection to the phone, and when i turn the Mobile Agent on, with phone connected, it recognises the phone correctly. Wierd :)

I think so. When i put the cable in (it is a USB cable) then the Prolific USB-to-Seriel-Comm Driver appears in the Device Manager.

To unlock T630 use SEMCTool 3.3, not 8.4
Press "Do selected jobs" and when say "Power phone on" connect cable (phone must be powered off and with battery inserted)
    Regards!

the port you selected on SEMC 8.4 must be the USB-TO-SERIAL-COM you see on the device manager , otherwise your phone won't be identified by the soft ....once done do :

    -check Clear User Code case

    -press Do selected Jobs

-press shortly the power button on ur phone

    that's all ..

The operation should succeed unless u have some TX/RX related problems in ur phone.

    Regards.

    let's try this way :
Remove battery and press Do Selected Jobs. ...wait 2 - 3 secs ..insert it back ...that would force the phone to communicate with the soft ..

If failed ....then you have to open your phone...and clean the system Connector..It might be --Dusted-- ! and try the process once again !

I got a lot of phones having problems in Connectors (preventing them to send/recieve any data out/in).

    Best regards .

That didnt work either. I have a connection with Float, but i am starting to think maybe i have a wrong cable ? I use a standard T28 USB data cable with 4 plastic holding pins and then 8, 1 and 2 contact pins so it looks like this:

    *llllllll*l*ll*

I hope you understand what i mean :)

Which Cable drivers do you recomend ?
