I should think that it wouldnt be too secure because people could listen to you if they where on the same signal
I had tried using a bluetooth messenger...
i app i was using requires 1 phone to be a server and other phones can join the chat room if they r in range.
in my opinion, this app is useless but its fun to try :P
where I find this program?

getjar.com maybe?:D
many of the bluetooth apps only send text. the 'walkie talkie' function that u speak of is called push to talk. depending on your phone sevice provider, u can use your phone as a walkie talkie, providing that ur phone supports it. nokia phones have them, but i know for certain that se phones dont :( (they currently have push to talk for optus in australia)
there are apps to download that use push to talk (walkie talkie) but only for smartphones so far :(
I Thought that nokia push to talk function uses the provider (so the provider has to support this function).
I donnot think that it would be ever bt class1 (for 100m) on cellphones because of limited battery.
As far bt chat, it is very intresting and i used some of them on my se k750i phone (java application). In some occations they are usefull despite the 10m bt limitation!
you mean talkie-walkie like nokia's 6300 PTT (push-to-talk)?
