Expanding SmS memmory revealed

hi guyz i was surfing n found how to expand the sms memmory thought to make a toutorial

a) You can expand your SMS Memory:
1. Browse to the folder /ifs/settings/messaging/ with FAR Manager
2. select pref_store.txt an hit F4
3. Just change "/smsdata" in "/tpa"
4. Save the changes
5. go back to "root" like mb-new description and shutdown the loader
6. Now restart your Phone and be happy

this just damages the sms system, you won't be able to send sms's anymore, i don't think there is a way to expand the sms limit on w810

This was just a first step - you have to redefine file structure on the destination to be happy or apply the vkp patch which does it for you :)

you can xpand the sms storage on any model which is compatible with far manager. I did this to many many phones and thers no problem @ all. they all work the normal way.

You can get both, FAR Manager and the SEFP plugin in the Download area of TopSony, or, separate, FAR Manager from it's official website and the plugin from the SE-NSE forum dedicated topic

FAR is a great file manager, by the way :)

Has anyone try this out on K800i ? I am thinking to mod this... Pls advise will it crash the sms system?
