I think there's a remote unlocking for every SE but i'm not sure...that's to type a code. Try <**< a menu willl apear and will ask you for a NCK code to unlock the network lock.

if i reflashed it with the original Sony Ericsson firmware would that not unlock it or would it jus take away all the network shortcuts and logos????

There is no free solutions to unlock any db2020 mobiles. You can use SETool3 with loggs or you can go here : http://www.davinciteam.com/db2020.php
And don´t fotget to read the manual caerefully.
