Patch your A2 CID 53 Red Phone for Free



Here is a totally free method to patch your A2 Red 53 phones.I have tested this method with my J105 and succeeded.

Let's what will you need

  1. Appropriate main firmware file (mbn file) of your phone. Find it from here
  2. An A2 firmware extractor, Read 3150 is good solution. Find it from here
  3. CodeCalw cxc patcher or Far cxc patcher.
  4. Cxc hash checker.cxchash.rar
  5. A2 uploader.
  6. vkp patches as your desire.
  7. USB flash drivers

That's all. But before you proceed,it's safe to backup your phone data.

Step 1 - Extracting "phone_app.cxc" file from mbn file.

Just Drag and drop the "mbn file" to the read3150.exe. You will get a folder named "BOOT" inside the filder "your_firmware_file.mbn.raw.out" in the directory of your firmware file.

Eg -: "J105_R1HA035_MAIN_GENERIC_LV_RED53.mbn.raw.out\BO OT"

Then find the "phone_app.cxc" file in that "BOOT" folder.

Step 2 - Patching "phone_app.cxc"

To patch phone_app.cxc file we can use either CodeClaw cxc patcher or Far cxc patcher.

2.1 - CodeClaw cxc patcher.

Start CodeClaw cxc patcher and select "VKP List!"

Then add all the vkp patches you need. After that select the "Patch!"

And then select the phone_app.cxc file from above step and select a destination to save patched phone_app.cxc file.
So nothing to wait, click "Patch VKP list" to start patching.

2.2 - Far cxc patcher

For Far cxc patcher, you can find installation instructions from here

Just start Far manager and open the phone_app.cxc file from previous step (double click).

Then drag and drop all the patches as your desire into the "cxc patcher" window. At the end just click ".." in cxc patcher to write all the scripts.

Drag and drop it onto cxc hash checker to calculate checksum.

Patching the firmware is now completed!

Step 3 - Replacing the original firmware file in the phone.

Now it's the time to replace original "phone_app.cxc" file in the phone with our modified "phone_app.cxc" file.

Start A2 Uploader. Then select "FileSystem tool" from the right side panel.

Then turn off your phone if not, while press and holding "c" key, plug the usb cabel to the phone.
(you may need to install usb flash drivers if they are not installed).

After A2 uploader recognized the phone, release the "c" key and let it to start the phone file system.

Open the "boot" folder in the right side browser window and just drag and drop your patched phone_app.cxc file inside.
Wait the software to write the file. Then click "Shutdown FS manager" and wait until it shuts down.

Remove the battery from the phone, replace it after 5 seconds. Turn on your phone to see how the patches are working.
