oobe w580i!

hi all,my first post on the forums,bear with me,hope i get all right......
would like to hear from anybody who has had a prob with memory stick on their w580i,perhaps its just a glitch peculiar to my w580i or have others experienced the same sort of thing,my w580i came purchased online form o2 on starting up the phone i was a little peeved to find my memory stick was not inserted but wait it was in there........on sliding the phone and cheking with file manager again the memory stick not inserted message again??? so i handled with kid gloves and everything behaved as normal ,until a serious slide action resulted in the same message......................anyone encountered the same prob?? is my memory stick faulty? is the housing for the memory stick faulty you can imagine this would be a real drawback on the operation of the phone

I've also got the W580i. I haven't had any problems with a memory stick not-inserted error message. The micro sticks can sometimes be a bit difficult to get in, are you sure it's fully inserted? If it is, sorry I've got no other advice!

i had problems with my memory stick on my rogers w580. I had to remove and reinsert it everytime i wanted to use it. it read that it was there but never could access. I bought a new stick and it seems to work fine now.

eh you all were right guess it was the 'newness' of the phone! seems to have bedded in fine now,but was a little sketchy when 'out of the box' still i would imagine sony wouldn't be to happy to learn this kind of thing can happen,but then again a recall for a glitch like this wouldn't be best practice and would be very expensive,so anyone having a similar prob just push it in as best you can and keep pressing on the cover lightly but firmly every now and then it will soon bed in ( thats the cover over the card slot)

well obviously something is up. i have never heard such a thing for the w580, it would make sense that probably its the phone and not the memory card, but just get it checked outttt gosh haha

Lol dude use interpunction and some alinea's or something...

I got a w580i aswell and Id advice you to blow fermly into the slot to blow the dust away. Then clean the golden contacts with a very very fine brush or some clothing (NOT with fingers) and then insert it again.
