Dead K770i

I have just aquired a K770i which, I have been informed, could well have been water damaged.
I have left it on the radiator for three or four days whilst waiting for the new battery to arrive. I put the battery in a desktop battery charger and got it fully charged.
I then put it in the phone, switched it on, it vibrated then nothing.
I connected to XS++ and got the details of the phone- CID52, Red. DB2020.
It didn't show it as locked although the phone has Vodafone branding on the front.
I played around for a while trying all-sorts with no luck.
I then went to SEUS and hooked it up and was told that the software was all up to date so I re- installed it to make sure. I then replaced the battery in it turned it on and got the vibrate and then, after holding the on switch down the keypad lights came on. These stayed on for a while and then turned off so I pressed a key and the lights came on.
The keys make a sound when pressed but I also tried charging the battery whilst it was in the phone and nothing happened so I have used the remote charger to keep it topped up.
The problem I have is that the screen is not coming on at all.
Has anyone got any ideas please?

try new lcd may have to open up to see how bad water damge is

You reckon it might work with new screen?
Where is the best place to get one?
Would ebay be as good as anywhere?

ebay would be but open it up 1st as it may just need the contacks cleaning

OK I'll take it apart and clean everything.

I have now cleaned it all, dried it out, sprayed it with WD40 and left it for three days.
I then carefully reassembled it and switch it on and nothing. I am not even getting the keypad alight now.
I took it apart again, checked everything was correctly positioned but nothing. I can't even get it to log on to XS++, setool or SEUS.
Any ideas please?:confused:

really bad to use wd 40 as it is oil based dont no why plepole use this should of been opened up and left to dry out then clean the contacks with the small tooth brush would off probley worked again

Can I wash the WD40 out with isopropyl alchohol?

change keypad flexi-board, they are all in one piece of board
