c905 firmware update

hey, not sure if i am in the right section of the forum, have got a c905 which has been unlocked and debranded, but i dont think it has the latest firmware as it does not have sms conversations on there, which is part of the reason i got the phone.
read bits and pieces on various forums and it sounds easy to upgrade, but dont know if it will cause a problem with the phone and dont want to brick it cos it been unlocked and debranded already, when i go update and get sortware version, this is what i am faced with and to be honest i dont really know what to do ---

can i upgrade it without problems, if so where do i get the files and tools from to do it??
or is that the latest version of the firmware and to leave as it is??

you have all stuf thats required in download section, and you need an usb cabel,
also there are plenty tutorials how to do it [Debrand] A2 (Db3150) Tutorial :)
