Flash w550i

hiii ....i want to know that is it cumpulsory that .fbn file and custom files should match each other...can i flash my w550 with these files using xs++

Hi, guys,

New to this awesome forum. Bought a w550i from China via eBay, couple months and it white-screens on me yesterday. This after I specifically asked the chinese guys to flash the phone to latest firmware that wouldn't have this problem and they guaranteed they did.

Looking to reflash, could you please tell me which files to use? Thanks!!!

So far I reflashed my w550 with R4CB020 (even thought that's what was already on it):

W550_R4CB020_MAIN_GENERIC_EL_RED49.bin
W550_R4CB020_FS_EUROPE_1_RED49.fbn
W550_CDA102426_9_R2A_Generic_EUROPE_1.zip

Same white screen.

Then I flashed it with the older R4AB048:

W550_R4AB048_ZONE1_STANDARD.mbn
W550_R4AB048_EU1.fbn
W550_CDA102426_9_R2A_Generic_EUROPE_1.zip (same cust pack from R4CB020, couldn't find one for R4AB048)

Same white screen.

Then reflashed back to R4CB020. No change, same white screen.

Anything else that I could try here? Thanks!!!

If you have GDFS backup (before when your phone work fine) now can make GDFS restore.
You can NOT use GDFS backup from another phone - this will kill your phone!!!
If you haven't GDFS backup -> go to a service centre.

No, I only have the GDFS backup made before trying to reflash. I suppose restoring to that is no use, eh...

Here is the strange thing, though - I've flashed the phone with both XS++ 2.2 and SeTools2 Lite, but apparently, despite the fact that both programs report success, it doesn't really flash. What I mean by that is that I've tried flashing it to R4AB048, I get success, but then i plug the phone in again and it's seen as R4CB020... in fact, everything else - FS, CDA - are all the same as in the beginning. Is there something I need to override to actually get it to flash?

yes, i was doing it as here

Step 7: Disconnect your phone , get the battery out for 5 seconds , reintroduce it and start up the phone.It will appear a screen with "Please Wait...", wait 1-2 minutes and then the phone will start normally.

That's funny, I recharged it overnight, and now the firmware shows as being updated to the older R4AB048! Still white screen though :(

Do i need any firmware file with *.ssw and flash it with XS++ ?????

You need .mbn format for MAIN, .fbn format for FS and the custom file must be in .zip format.
