Hi all,

First time poster - have attempted to solve my problems via the use of tutorials and google before coming here - hope someone can help.

Having recently purchased a "sim only" contract from 3 mobile here in the UK i assumed i would be able to use an old phone a friend of mine gave me.

Unfortunatley this phone was Vodafone locked - and when i tried to follow the standard XS++ method it became apparent that the phone is "CID53"

Some further googling led me to FAR manager and JDflasher plugin - and after following a tutotial i managed to flash the firmware with;

K800_R8BF003_FS_EUROPE_1_RED53.fbn

and then used OFS to copy the TPA file found in

HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_10_R8A_GENERIC_EUROPE_1

Both downloaded from Topsony download section.

After turning the phone on i was encouraged to see the Vodafone logo no longer comes up when the phone boots - leading me to believe that the phone was now unlocked - but I still get the error insert correct sim, when trying to use the phone with the 3 Mobile SIM.

This is my first attempt at anything like this - and i've been really pleased with how much information is available - and how much help is available.

I'm hoping i've just done something stupid - but any help is appreciated - if not i guess i'll cancel the 3 contract and look for another alternative.

Thanks

Steve
