W810 cant be connected to Se tool

I have been given a w810.
I have a new battery which in my friends phone shows 100%.
If i try to turn on the phone nothing happens not even the red light in the infa red port ?
I have tried holding down the c button then identifyt & also 2+5 then identify but nothing.
I have had a read through but did not see anything that would help me.
Any other ideas what i can do so i can flash new firmware.

phone will be identified by windows. But it is not enough to connet the file system.make sure that SEUS(sony ericsson update service) is correctly installed.check it by connecting ur friends 4n to ur computor.

Sorry when i mentioned se tool i meant se tool 2 light not sony ereicsson update service ?
I have downloaded seus anyhow and give it a try but still nothing.
My other phone connects fine.
Not sure why the phone wont even show the red light in the ir port even when fully charged battery fitted.
But for now i still need to connect somehow to flash phone.

how the time in charge, whether the indicator shows charging? if not, try to change charging connector ... after that try to connect to setool
