k610i battery runs low in just 5 hours

Hey everyone,

I've had a k610i for the past year all working fine but suddenly the battery now only lasts 5 hours and thats whilst on standby ! It should be lasting approx 15 hours on standby ... i've tried a spare battery from a w810i (battery works fine in the w810i - lasts for days) but once in my k610i it lasts just 5 hours. At this stage i figured it must be a softare issue so i decided to flash the phone to a w660. Flash all went well but i've still got the same problem with the battery lasting 5 hours. So im now stuck for ideas, what could be causing the battery to drain so quickly ? I've tried another battery and i've tried reflashing but no difference ... any ideas ?

well you said your phone is old, there might be dust deposites inside your phone that cause so short to your phone, think it needs to be serviced

Thanks for the reply - i cant see it being dust since its been kept very clean and that wouldnt account for all this battery drain, it must be something else. Besides a service is really out of the question since i could buy a new phone for the same price ... something more id like to add though is when i put the phone on charge suddenly its back up at 90% from a 2 minutes charge. This is why i thought a reflash would solve everything but obviously not.

like i said, this is not software issue, needs servicing at a very low price, just gave it to the mobile mechanic

Thats the problem there, my local phone repair shops have quoted me between £20 and £30 to fix it and se want £50 so for the same price i may aswell just buy another k610i. Is there no way i can service the phone myself ? I've dealt with laptops before since i used to build referbs up and i fixed my se k850i last year by replacing the rear speaker so im quite handy with these things its just knowing what to do. Any suggestions that i can try myself ?

well indeed you can try, but you need the Disassembly Guide for that phone, so just give google some time and hope you would find what is important to start servicing
